As a designer, creating unique logos and branding materials for youth sports organizations in Atlanta has been a rewarding experience since 2017. The focus has been on helping clients build a brand identity that reflects their values and aspirations, moving away from using pre-copyrighted logos and building a unique brand for themselves.
Old Logo
improved logo
Client originally only had a low resolution jpeg of their logo. I focused on making design improvements to the logo, define brand guidelines for the client including new assets that can be used to further the branding for the client., and proper file types for future uses.

overview
One of the recent projects was with the Fairburn Flames, a football team in the Metro Atlanta Youth Football League. The team wanted to improve the fidelity of their existing logo, which lacked transparency and high-resolution versions. The goal was to create a unique brand identity that stands out among its competitors. This project led to collaborating with other teams in the league to help them improve their branding and create unique logos.
Design Process
When I was initially contacted by the leader of the Fairburn Flames, we had a discussion about their current logo and the limitations they were experiencing with its low resolution JPEG format. After understanding their needs and goals, which included various file formats for printing on uniforms, flyers, and merchandise, we talked about the improvements they wanted to see while still working with the existing logo design that had been used on a costly turf field in Atlanta. I presented multiple variations of the logo, including a high fidelity version and an improved version, and ultimately we decided on the improved version which I then provided in multiple variations and file formats, including white, black, blue, and orange versions, along with word marks and custom assets. In addition to standard file formats, I also exported PNGs at 2x and 3x sizes for optimal use.
outcome
The client loved the project and recommended me to other teams in the Metro Atlanta Youth Football League. By creating unique branding materials, I was able to help the organization build a lasting brand identity that stands out from the competition.
Challenges
One of the biggest challenges in designing logos for youth sports organizations is creating something that is unique and memorable. Many teams tend to use logos and branding materials that are based on popular professional sports teams, which limits their ability to create a distinct identity.
Conclusion
Designing custom logos and branding materials for youth sports organizations in Atlanta has been a rewarding experience. By creating unique branding materials, I believe I have been able to help these organizations stand out from the competition and build a lasting brand identity.
